5 Tips for Safe Fun in the Sun

Summer is in full effect so it's only right we spend as much time enjoying the warm weather as possible! Before you head out, make sure you check out these tips below to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

 

1. Wear Sunscreen — Applying sunscreen should be a part of your daily routine all year round, but especially in the summer. If possible, carry it with you so you can reapply as needed.

 

2. Stay Hydrated — Sipping on sugary, cold drinks feels refreshing in the moment but could make you more thirsty. Be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to stay hydrated. If you're on the go, be sure to carry a water bottle with you.

 

3. Hat + Sunglasses — Protect your eyes and scalp with a hat and shades! These can also help keep you cool in the heat.

 

4. Listen to Your Body — If you start to feel dizzy, tired, or just simply not like yourself, you may need to take a break from the sun and go inside! Remember to listen to your body and give it what it needs. 

 

5. Moisturize Your Scalp — The warmer weather could cause an increase in sweat and dandruff in some people. Take time to moisturize your scalp daily and feel free to wash as needed.
