What's In Your Shampoo?

Many of us seek relief for dry, itchy scalp with dandruff products, but that can be tricky.  For starters, most scalp treatment products have some undesirable side effects like hair dryness, and the dreaded medicinal smell. Before jumping from product to product, however, remember that it’s important to determine why you may have an irritated scalp.  Sometimes it may relate to simple dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis), chemical treatments, hair color, tight styles, or other medical conditions like psoriasis or eczema. It’s always a good idea to establish a proper diagnosis, so please visit a board-certified dermatologist if you have persistent hair or scalp troubles!

I worked for years to formulate an effective system of products with specialized ingredients while still being gentle and moisturizing on hair because the symptoms related to scalp irritation are emotionally and physically frustrating. Dandruff affects roughly half of the US adult population at some time in their life with roughly 10% of the population suffering from seborrheic dermatitis. It takes a unique formula to really strike a balance between efficacy and cosmetic desirability and we believe LivSo meets the mark better than anything else I have recommended. The LivSo Moisturizing Shampoo incorporates many specialized ingredients and one of the most unique and important of which is xylitol. Xylitol is an active ingredient which has been shown to combat yeast and promotes healthy skin.

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that is a unique way to fight the growth of Malassezia, a type of yeast that can grow on the scalp and can lead to symptoms such as dry, itchy scalp and flakes. It is a unique ingredient in the LivSo shampoo system, which is laser-focused on preventing dryness and flakiness on the scalp while keeping the hair healthy and moisturized. Xylitol can be found naturally in certain plants and trees such as the birch tree. It has many common uses in ingestible consumer products like gum, candy, and mints; however, it also has been shown to increase collagen production and hydrate the skin. We believe it contributes largely to our products’ efficacy. If you have tried other products containing zinc pyrithione or other traditional dandruff fighting ingredients like selenium sulfide, ask yourself if LivSo works better & let us know!

Our unique 3-step system of products which includes the Moisturizing Shampoo has been proven to be effective in alleviating scalp irritation during an independent 12-week study. 97% of people who used the system for 12 weeks believed it was the best system they had ever used to treat their dry hair and scalp. In addition, after 12 weeks, the average improvement in scalp irritation was 78%. I am extremely proud that our unique formula, which includes the yeast-fighting ingredient, xylitol, helped produce these inspiring results. I have observed that my patients with dry, itchy scalp feel more relief now, regardless of hair type or ethnic background. For those of you who have already experienced a similar improvement in scalp discomfort - congratulations and thank you for your business. If you know of anyone who could benefit from LivSo, please share this blog with them. Ask yourself how LivSo compares and let us know!
