We have become inundated with a multitude of options for products, styles, colors and lengths for our hair. These choices can be interesting and fun, but can often leave us feeling somewhat overwhelmed. We naturally wonder if we are doing enough for our hair and even worry if we are missing out on something that will create healthy beautiful hair.
I offer that the secret to finding your own health & beauty is simple: take care of what you have!
Special situations: For chemically straightened or colored hair, take care to moisturize regularly.
If hair extensions are used in the form of braids or weaves, communicate clearly with your stylist about any tight spots. Ask her to gently loosen the area to avoid unwanted hair breakage. Also, be sure to take breaks from the added hair for at least 1-2 times the amount of time that you actually wore the hair. For example, if you wore added hair for 8 weeks, take a break for at least 8 - 16 weeks. So called protective styles are great for short periods, but may also cause damage if your own hair is neglected for an extended amount of time.
Yours in health & beauty,
Shari Hicks-Graham, MD, FAAD

The scalp lotion is to be used simply as moisturizer for dry scalp. It may be applied directly to the scalp to help relieve any dry itchy areas. Think of it as if it is lotion for any other part of the body, but instead it goes on the scalp!
Our products were tested during a clinical trial with adult study participants. The products were not studied for use on children. Please be advised that the products are not tear-free. In other words, if kids got the products in their eyes, their eyes would sting and they would experience a burning sensation.
LivSo was designed for people with dry itchy scalp and curly or kinky hair, regardless of ethnicity or gender. If you have a curly hair type that dries out easily with typical dandruff shampoos, this product is for you.
If you don’t have dry itchy scalp, but have dry curly hair, you will most likely still enjoy using LivSo.
If you have dry itchy scalp, but have straight hair, still consider trying LivSo. It may feel more moisturizing than what you are used to, but it should still help your dry itchy scalp.
