How LivSo Can Help Men Fight Dandruff

Dermatologists do a lot more than find solutions for acne and remind you to wear an SPF (and reapply every one to two hours!). For more than 12 years, I've practiced dermatology and have seen both men and women suffer from dry skin -- more specifically, dry itchy scalp. Dry scalp, itchiness and flakes can occur for a multitude of reasons: an imbalanced pH level (the oil/water balance resulting in higher acidity or alkalinity), a reaction to product or product build up, or a rash like seborrheic dermatitis. Regardless of the catalyst, I needed to find a simple and effective solution for women and men, so I created LivSo. In addition to using products like LivSo that are clinically-proven to improve scalp health, here are some hair health starter tips:

Keep your scalp clean: Washing your hair regularly will help control dandruff by clearing your scalp and hair of any flakes and build up that may be causing additional itchiness or irritation.

Restore moisture: Balance and protect hair with a little extra moisture. A quality conditioner will also help nourish your scalp and help relieve dryness from the root, and your strands will benefit as much as your scalp.

Treat: When dealing with flakes and itchiness, sometimes we need a little more than a shampoo and conditioner. LivSo Moisturizing Lotion contains shea butter, glycolic acid  and chamomile to treat and condition your scalp in between washes for optimal health and healing.

Oftentimes I would find myself prescribing patients with products to treat their scalp issues, then additional products to treat the over dryness in hair and scalp that would occur as a side effect. LivSo was developed with simplicity in mind to appeal to both men and women. If you have additional questions about how our products fight dandruff and dry scalp, email me at
